Yorkshire Day

Whitby, Yorkshire, England, UK

The 1st of August is Yorkshire day and being a Yorkshire based company, we are naturally biased towards the wonders of this beautiful county! There are so many reasons to take a holiday here and we hope to inspire you as to why a visit to God’s own county should be on your radar for a UK cottage break.

Due to its size, the county of Yorkshire really does have something for everyone. For walkers, outdoor enthusiasts and anyone who simply loves days outside in picturesque surroundings, the county’s two national parks, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors are both well worth a visit. Yorkshire is also home to a lovely coastline, encompassing the popular seaside towns of Scarbrough, Whitby, Filey, Robin Hood’s Bay and Bridlington.

And it’s not all rolling hills and stone walls, Yorkshire has a pretty great selection of towns and cities to visit too. Harrogate, Leeds, York, Skipton, Halifax, Ripon, Knaresborough and Bradford to name just a few, all have so much to offer and are both unique and diverse in their own way. Whether you’re looking for history, culture or nightlife, you’re certain to find it!

For days out, there are countless museums to visit such as the National Railway Museum, the National Science and Media Museum, the Royal Armouries, Eureka! The National Children’s Museum, the National Coal Mining Museum, the Jorvic Viking Centre, the list goes on! In addition to this. Yorkshire is also home to theme parks such as Light Water Valley and Flamingo Land,  zoos such as Yorkshire Wildlife Park and The Deep, one of the UK’s biggest aquariums.

It’s hard to encompass all the many wonderful things to see and do here in just a short post, but we can guarantee you won’t be lost for activities and will hopefully be wanting to return time and again.
