Pyworthy rests within a rural area, close to the Cornish border in the North of Devon, just 8 miles from the sandy beaches of Bude. The area plays host to a vast array of opportunities including wildlife spotting, birdwatching and fishing. The close by resort of Bude plays host to pubs, restaurants, shops and superb golf links, as well as walks including the Coast and Canal trail.
Devon has quite a few claims to fame such as being the backdrop to many films, including; War Horse - starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston, and directed by Steven Spielberg. South Devon is home to over 20 miles of Torbay coastline which is otherwise known as the 'English Riviera'. Brixton, Paignton and Torquay are the three Riviera towns and are great places to enjoy a day at the seaside. The Dartmoor National Park can be found in Devon and offers visitors a dramatic moorland landscape, ancient woodland, rare wildlife and notable influences, such as the location for Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes case 'The Hound of the Baskervilles'.
