Shaldon is a coastal village in the Devonshire countryside, in England, resting alongside the River Teign. The village provides a choice of shops, supermarkets, pubs and restaurants for all of your amenities. There is easy access into the thriving seaside town of Torquay, hosting a number of tourist attractions, many eateries and independent shops to explore.
Devon has quite a few claims to fame such as being the backdrop to many films, including; War Horse - starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston, and directed by Steven Spielberg. Sense and Sensibility - starring Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Hugh Grant and Kate Winslet. The French Lieutenant's Woman - starring Meryl Streep and Jeremy Irons. South Devon is home to over 20 miles of Torbay coastline which is otherwise known as the 'English Riviera'. Brixton, Paignton and Torquay are the three Riviera towns and are great places to enjoy a day at the seaside. So if you fancy some fresh sea air and picturesque views then visit the 'English Riviera'.
The Dartmoor National Park can be found in Devon and offers visitors a dramatic moorland landscape, ancient woodland, rare wildlife and notable influences, such as the location for Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes case 'The Hound of the Baskervilles'.
