Just a short drive away are Lake Windermere (8 miles), the villages of Bowness-on-Windermere and Hawkshead, which still retain the charm and character that has endeared them to so many, and the home of sticky toffee pudding, Cartmel, with its famous racecourse and the L'Enclume restaurant, which has been voted the 4th best restaurant in the UK. Set amidst the southern lakes, this attractive town makes a superb base from which to enjoy the whole of this magical area.

Reviews for Hillberry
A warm welcome waited for us from the owners when we arrived at the property. The property was exceptionally clean and spacious and easily met our requirements, with fluffy towels and good quality bed linen. The covered patio at the rear of the property was ideal for relaxing after a full day out whatever the weather. It was convenient for visiting Lake Windermere and further afield, and close enough without being in the hustle and bustle. The grandchildren had lots of fun playing hide and seek over the 4 floors of the property. Not to be missed is a walk along the promenade to watch the tide rushing in, quite a sight to see. A big thank you to the owners for letting us stay in your amazing house. We would have no hesitation to recommend it to others.
