This lovely town is a popular centre for shopping, pubs and restaurants, as well as for other activities such as theatre, bowls, swimming, tennis and other sports. The Lord Melvyn Bragg novel, 'A Time to Dance', featured the town of Thurston, which was based on Wigton and the local area. A lovely base for a holiday exploring Cumbria and the Scottish Borders.

Reviews for Beech Hill Lodge (Beech Hill 9) at Fallbarrow Park
A very comfortable lodge which was nice and warm with comfortable beds. Everything was first class. In an excellent position with a view of the lake too. Would certainly recommend people to rent the lodge. It was only a walk to the ferry, town centre and shops so no need to always take the car.
