Stithians has a small Post Office/store, a fish and chip shop and a pub which serves good food. When you wish to explore there are many country walks, one of which will take you to Stithians Lake, popular for watersports, angling and birdwatching, where you can sample the local ale and excellent fare at The Golden Lion Inn, within a few miles of the bustling maritime resort of Falmouth.
Cornwall is a region full of history, culture and unique identity. So unique in fact that Cornwall has its very own language (Kernowek), flag (St Piran's Banner) and national anthem (Trelawney). In 2014 the UK government officially recognised the fine people of Cornwall as a national minority group, meaning that Cornish heritage and traditions now join the Irish, Scottish and Welsh as a protected Celtic group.
Cornwall is proudly known as the stunning setting of the popular BBC television series 'Poldark', starring Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson. Cornwall is also proud of its famous Cornish Pasty, but has another pastry dish to offer you, the Stargazy Pie! If you don't mind a few pilchards looking at you whilst you eat, then the Stargazy Pie is the pie for you.
