Head into Axminster just over 4 miles and enjoy a coffee at the River Cottage Canteen, or sample mouthwatering local produce on offer at the weekly market. Coastal towns of Lyme Regis, Seaton and Beer allow you to enjoy walks along the coastal footpath, a spot of sea fishing or simply relaxing on the beach with a picnic. The thriving town of Axminster lies close to the East Devon and Dorset border and a few miles inland from the popular coastal resort of Lyme Regis. A fantastic base for exploring the region with easy access to the coast. The town is home to the Axminster River Cottage Canteen, and River Cottage HQ can be found just outside of the town. Situated on the Axe estuary there are some wonderful walks in the area. The town hosts a weekly market and there are some super gastro pubs in the area.
Devon has quite a few claims to fame such as being the backdrop to many films, including; War Horse - starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston, and directed by Steven Spielberg.
