Dawlish Warren has shops, a golf course and a nature reserve. The beach is Blue Flag and backed by sand dunes and lakes and has many events, children's entertainers and firework displays. Dawlish Warren has one of the most scenic railway journeys in the country on the Exeter-Newton Abbott line. Nearby there is Paignton Zoo, the Dartmouth Steam Railway, the picturesque harbour of Brixham and the pier and promenade at Teignmouth. A typically English seaside resort, great for family holidays at any time of year.
Devon has quite a few claims to fame such as being the backdrop to many films, including; War Horse - starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston, and directed by Steven Spielberg. Sense and Sensibility - starring Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Hugh Grant and Kate Winslet. The French Lieutenant's Woman - starring Meryl Streep and Jeremy Irons. Edge Of Tomorrow: Live Die Repeat - starring Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt and Brendan Gleeson. So you may recognise a few of the locations from their appearances on the big screen.
