The town of Kingsbridge lies in the South Hams area of south Devon. There are river excursions to Salcombe, or take a walk along Kingsbridge Quay, wander through alleys off Fore Street or visit the Shambles. Around the area there are ports at Dartmouth and Salcombe, and beaches at Blackpool Sands and Thurlestone. There are attractive villages in South Hams offering pubs, local farm shops and rows of cottages. Further afield the city of Plymouth houses the National Marine Aquarium, Barbican Quay and night life including theatres, restaurants and bars.
