Sedbergh is set at the foot of the Howgill Fells, a market town in northern Dentdale. Situated just inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park and only 12 miles from the Lake District National Park, the town, boasts little shops, traditional pubs, a famous school dating back to 1525 and its 12th century church. Leading from Sedbergh is Dentdale, the jewel of the Yorkshire Dales stretching 14 miles from the moors below Whernside to the confluence of the Rivers Dee and Rawthey. There are three golf courses nearby, as well as tennis, riding, and fishing, and the area is a paradise for walkers, ramblers, runners and cyclists.
